Third-Party Plan Review and AHJ Support
Smaller cities, counties, and emergency services districts receive the same high-piled storage, hazardous materials, and battery submittals the large jurisdictions do, often without a reviewer who sees them every week. IgnitionTech provides that reviewer on contract.
The firm reviews the submittal against the jurisdiction's adopted code and amendments, writes the comment letter in the jurisdiction's format, and is available to the fire marshal for the applicant's questions. The jurisdiction keeps the authority. IgnitionTech supplies the technical depth.
What IgnitionTech delivers
- Plan review comment letters for high-piled storage, hazardous materials, sprinkler design criteria, and energy storage submittals
- Review of alternative materials and methods requests and technical assistance reports submitted by applicants
- Code adoption and amendment review, including conflict checks against the base International Code Council (ICC) text
- On-call technical assistance by phone and email for the fire marshal's staff
- Field support for acceptance testing and complex inspections on request
Who receives and approves it
The fire marshal, the fire code official, the building official, and the emergency services district board.
Codes and standards
- The jurisdiction's adopted editions of the International Fire Code and International Building Code and its local amendments
- NFPA 13, NFPA 855, NFPA 30, NFPA 72, and the other referenced standards as adopted
- ICC code development and the Texas Local Government Code provisions on code adoption where relevant
Editions shown are the current Texas baseline. The edition adopted by the project jurisdiction, with its amendments, governs each project and is confirmed at kickoff.
